MANILA, Philippines — In a recent announcement, Malacañang has issued four proclamations declaring special non-working holidays in various towns across Leyte and Luzon. Proclamation 767 designates January 24 as a special non-working day in Carigara, Leyte, in honor of the town's 454th founding anniversary. Although Carigara's actual anniversary falls on January 25, which is a Saturday, the municipal council requested that the holiday be observed the day before. This adjustment allows residents to enjoy a long weekend and fully engage in the festivities.
Proclamation 768 declares January 20 as a special non-working day in Lipa, Batangas, for the Coffee Festival. This annual event celebrates the rich coffee culture of the region and attracts numerous visitors and participants.
Proclamation 770 establishes January 31 as a special non-working day in Lian, Batangas, to observe the Liberation Day of the town. This day marks a significant historical event and provides an opportunity for the community to reflect on its past and celebrate its heritage.
Lastly, Proclamation 769 designates January 23 as a special non-working day in Bulacan.
