The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board – Caraga (RTWPB) has approved new wage adjustments for 2025. According to Wage Order No. RXIII-19, the minimum daily wage for private sector workers will increase by Php 50, bringing it to Php 435. Meanwhile, Wage Order No. RXIII-DW-05 sets the minimum monthly wage for domestic workers at Php 6,000.

These new wage orders were published on December 17, 2024, and will take effect starting January 2, 2025. The Php 50 increase for private sector employees will be rolled out in two phases: an initial Php 30 increase will be applied on January 2, 2025, followed by an additional Php 20 on May 1, 2025. Consequently, the new minimum daily wage will be Php 435. The pay adjustment for domestic workers, known as kasambahays will be fully implemented by January 2025.

The approval of these new wage rates was based on comprehensive deliberations by the regional wage board, which considered various socio-economic indicators such as inflation, poverty thresholds, and the consumer price index. Additionally, the board took into account feedback from employers and workers gathered through public consultations and hearings held in October and November 2024.

These wage adjustments aim to improve economic support for workers in the Caraga region, reflecting a commitment to better labor conditions and fair compensation. Employers in the region are expected to comply with these new wage orders, ensuring that workers receive their rightful pay increases as mandated by the RTWPB.

By addressing the needs of both private sector employees and domestic workers, Caraga is taking significant steps towards fostering economic growth and social equity in the region.
