Filing Privileges for Typhoon KRISTINE Victims in Bicol

In response to the devastating impact of Typhoon KRISTINE on October 23, 2024, PhilHealth has announced special privileges for the filing of claims for affected individuals in the Bicol Region. This initiative is in accordance with PhilHealth Circular 2020-0007, which outlines the guidelines for providing special privileges to those affected by fortuitous events.


Eligibility and Filing Period: PhilHealth will grant special privileges to accredited health facilities covered by PhilHealth Regional Offices V. Claims with discharges starting from August 24, 2024, and onwards are eligible. The filing period covers 60 days from the actual occurrence of the event, which is from October 23, 2024, to November 30, 2024. Claims filed within this period will be accorded a 120-day filing period from the date of discharge until otherwise rescinded.


Special Provisions for Other Regions: Regions not covered by this issuance may submit a request to the Office of the President and CEO for approval, subject to the guidelines of PC 2020-0007, provided there is an official declaration of a state of calamity.
