Plan Your February: Malacañang Announces New Local Holidays for 2026
Malacañang has officially declared a series of special non-working days for February 2026, along with dates in January and May, to allow residents in various provinces, cities, and municipalities to celebrate their local festivities. These proclamations were signed by Executive Secretary Ralph G. Recto under the authority of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. Here is a guide to the newly announced local holidays.
February 2026 Local Special Non-Working Days
February 2, 2026: Residents of Katipunan, Zamboanga Del Norte, will celebrate their 112th Araw ng Katipunan. Simultaneously, Mabalacat City, Pampanga, will mark its 314th Founding Anniversary. These are declared under Proclamation Nos. 1135 and 1139, respectively.
February 3, 2026: Cabanatuan City in Nueva Ecija will observe its 76th Founding Anniversary as a special non-working day, in accordance with Proclamation No. 1138.
February 6, 2026: Consolacion, Cebu, will celebrate its 106th Founding Anniversary, as declared by Proclamation No. 1136.
February 10, 2026: Bacolor, Pampanga, will mark the celebration of Bacolor Day under Proclamation No. 1129.
February 11, 2026: Residents of Candoni, Negros Occidental, will have the opportunity to participate in the Dinagyaw sa Tablas Festival, which honors the town's settlers, as per Proclamation No. 1137.
February 17, 2026: Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay, will celebrate the Araw ng Kabasalan, as declared in Proclamation No. 1132.
February 21, 2026: The entire province of Marinduque will observe a special non-working day to celebrate the Araw ng Marinduque under Proclamation No. 1130.
Additional Declared Holidays for 2026
In addition to the February dates, the following local holidays were also announced:
January 15, 2026, and May 7, 2026: San Pablo City in Laguna will celebrate its Coconut Festival and Charter Anniversary, respectively, under Proclamation Nos. 1133 and 1134.
January 22, 2026: Guiguinto, Bulacan, marked the celebration of its Halamanan Festival under Proclamation No. 1131.
