PhilHealth OECB: New ER Benefit Starts Feb 2025
PhilHealth Launches Outpatient Emergency Care Benefit Nationwide
Starting February 14, 2025, PhilHealth members can avail of the new Outpatient Emergency Care Benefit (OECB) package in all accredited hospitals across the Philippines. This significant development, announced under PhilHealth Advisory No. 2025-0009, aims to provide wider and more accessible healthcare for Filipinos during emergencies.
Automatic Deduction for ER Visits
PhilHealth issues a reminder to all its partner hospitals to automatically deduct the OECB from the bills of members who receive treatment in their emergency rooms. This ensures that the benefit is applied directly at the point of service, lessening the financial burden on patients.
How to File a Claim Manually
In cases where a member is discharged and the benefit was not applied, the member can file a claim directly.
You have 60 days from your discharge date to submit the required documents to your nearest Local Health Insurance Office (LHIO).
Required Documents for Claiming:
Claim Form 1 or a generated PhilHealth Benefit Eligibility Form (PBEF)
Claim Form 2
Claim Form 4
Itemized Statement of Account/Billing with the applied fixed fee schedule from the Essential Emergency Care List (EECL)
Laboratory and/or imaging results
Hospital waiver and official receipt
