The Philippine Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has issued Labor Advisory No. 08, Series of 2025, clarifying the proper wage payments for two upcoming regular holidays:

  • June 6, 2025 – Eidul Adha (Feast of the Sacrifice)

  • June 12, 2025 – Independence Day

This guide helps both employers and employees in the private sector understand the correct computation of wages for these dates, ensuring everyone is compensated fairly. The rules are based on Proclamation Nos. 727, Series of 2024 and 911, Series of 2025.

Official Pay Rules for Regular Holidays

To ensure proper compliance, please be guided by the following rules for wage computation for the regular holidays on June 6 and June 12, 2025.

1. If an employee does not work

If you do not work on these holidays, you are entitled to receive 100% of your daily wage. This is provided that you are present or on a paid leave of absence on the workday immediately preceding the holiday.

  • Formula:

    BasicWage×100%

2. If an employee works on the holiday

For work done during the holiday, you shall be paid a total of 200% of your basic wage for the first eight hours.

  • Formula:

    BasicWage×200%

3. If an employee works overtime

For work performed in excess of eight hours, you are entitled to an additional 30% of your hourly rate on that day.

  • Formula:

    HourlyRate×200%×130%×NumberofHoursWorked

4. If an employee works on a holiday that is also their rest day

If the holiday also falls on your scheduled rest day, you shall be paid an additional 30% on top of the 200% holiday rate.

  • Formula:

    BasicWage×200%×130%

5. If an employee works overtime on a holiday that is also their rest day

For overtime work on a regular holiday that also falls on your rest day, you shall be paid an additional 30% of your hourly rate on that day.

  • Formula:

    HourlyRate×200%×130%×130%×NumberofHoursWorked
